Go Flames Go

Tickets went on sale, so I purchased J's birthday present early (well, okay, I admit. It's a present to me, too. And yes, she already knows about it, so I'm not ruining any surprise). Two tickets to see the Flames play the Avalanche on Nov. 12th. Yes, I know it's the long weekend, and going to the game means I won't be going home. I actually wanted to get seats to the game on the 5th, but the "cheap seats" seemed to be sold out, so the game on the 12th was the next best thing. Given that it's a long weekend also gives me time to do homework, even with going to the game.

So anyways... I got tickets to a Flames game, and that is a Good Thing.

Back to Square One

One problem with being a full time student and having a part time job is finding the time to work said part time job. Case in point. 3 hours a week at the hospital for about 8 weeks. And 3 hours a week is the whopping total I can work at the bookstore.

How exactly does that pay the bills? It doesn't. It doesn't even cover a quarter of them.

It's been a long day.

Class Ratings

Just a quick note to give my impressions on my classes, after (just about) a full week...

Greek I: 3/5, if only because so far, it's entirely boring, and entirely a review
Latin III: 3.5 / 5, for the reason that my Latin vocabulary seems to have vanished
Adv Origins of Christianity: 5/5, a seminar-style discussion based class. It's gonna be good
East Asian Religious Traditions (Daoism): 4/5, so far so good. Not as good as the other, but good.
Ancient Civilization: 2/5 but this may go up when we actually start *doing* something in class!

More on each of these later, but I have lots of Latin vocab to learn. And lots of other readings, as well.

Testing, one... two... testing...

"Is this thing on?"

I am writing this from .... (drumroll please) ... my laptop. In the townhouse.

We have internet!

After dozens of phone calls and two visits from Telus technicians, things are now working. As it turns out, we were the recipients of a very strange problem. When the order was originally submitted to Telus, it had the wrong address on it. This was the problem whose resolution resulted in my first inaccurate "we're back" message. Anyways, somehow, this wrong address got stuck in Telus' system such that even after the address was corrected, the old (wrong) information was still hanging out in cyberspace somewhere. Only today, after two months of waiting, did Telus finally find out that this was the problem. But all is now resolved, and we are officially....
